Sa\xc3\xafd Business School, at the heart of Oxford University, is one of the world\'s leading business schools with a vibrant community and an innovative approach to teaching, research, and collaboration. As the recipient of over \xc2\xa3100 million in philanthropic income over the last six years, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Major Gifts Officer to further enhance our fundraising team.

With the arrival of Professor Soumitra Dutta as the Schools\' new Dean, and new a Chief Operating Officer, Manos Kapterian, an ambitious new School five-year plan has recently been agreed and Oxford Sa\xc3\xafd is entering an exciting new phase in its evolution. Securing increased levels of philanthropic income and deep levels of alumni engagement will be a critical element in the successful delivery of the new strategy.

In November 2022, the School also welcomed Kate Foley as Director of Development and Alumni Relations, who together with an expanded Development and Alumni team and support from across the School will lead the School\'s efforts and delivery in this area.

About the Role:

In this crucial role, you will work closely with major donors, academics, and senior colleagues across the collegiate University to secure philanthropic gifts up to the \xc2\xa31 million level, primarily aimed at advancing the strategic mission of the School.

Your fundraising priorities will range from delivering scholarships for outstanding students, supporting entrepreneurship activities, funding key academic posts and research programmes, backing the School\'s new Global Leadership Centre, and new strategic priorities as they emerge.

You will manage and build a portfolio of 100 qualified prospects, including individuals, foundations, and corporates.

Some of the key responsibilities:

  • Working under the direction of the Head of Development - Foundations & Corporations, you will develop, implement and lead plans to move prospects through the donor cycle with a view to securing gifts ranging from mid-level five-figure gifts to principal gifts at the seven-figure level.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the principles and protocols for fundraising across the collegiate University and skillfully navigating stakeholder management in a complex decentralised institution.
  • Collaborating with the Donor Relations Manager to provide excellent donor stewardship and care for all existing donors and support the overall goals of the Development and Alumni team.
