Job Description



Full Time \xe2\x80\x93 35 Hours per week, Mondays to Fridays We are currently looking for a Senior Development Manager to undertake a programme of Business Development activities to generate opportunities for MSV, to include a range of housing of all tenures and business growth in non-housing areas identified in the Growth Plan. The successful candidate will take a leading role in developing partnerships with specified Local Authorities, Housebuilders and other development partners in order to generate new business opportunities for MSV. You will provide leadership and project management across MSV and provide direct leadership to the development officers, whilst supporting and managing the sales and Home Ownership Officer and Development Assistant. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide input into the Growth and Corporate strategies of MSV
  • Managing the implementation of agreed strategies and business / financial plans within the Growth and Development function
  • Lead on the delivery of a programme of development projects from inception to completion
  • Lead on large-scale, land led regeneration projects
  • Prepare and deliver bids for HCA and other grant funding and liaise on project and programme delivery issues with the HCA and other appropriate partners
  • Meet the requirements of public and private funding and regulators and work within financial regulations
  • Ensure a customer orientated approach to the delivery of the Development Services
  • Provide effective leadership and motivate team members to achieve high levels of performance and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare performance reports, presentations and briefings for the Leadership and Executive teams
  • Deputise for the Development Director as appropriate
We are looking for someone who has:
  • The successful candidate will have an appropriate qualification in Property, Surveying, Construction, Housing or Project Management or will be qualified by experience
  • Proven experience of residential development with a housing association, housing developer or other property-based organisation
  • Proven successful track record in a project or development management environment
  • Proven track record in meeting targets and working to deadlines
  • Proven experience of forming and maintaining effective partnerships with external organisations
  • In depth knowledge of current issues relating to housing development
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • A degree level education would be desirable
