We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build infrastructure that accelerates scientific discovery.


Youll join a growing cross-functional team spanning software, hardware, data, AI research, and infrastructure. Chemify operates with a fast-paced, iterative product mindset, were looking for engineers who are hands-on, curious, and hungry to build. Youll have influence to introduce new tooling, evolve our platform, and directly support robotic chemistry that leads to real-world breakthroughs.


Our API-first platform supports end-to-end design, execution, monitoring, and learning from chemical synthesis campaigns. You will play a key role in evolving our developer experience, deployment pipelines, and high-performance compute environments to support cutting-edge scientific innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineer infrastructure that spans cloud-native microservices, secure lab environments, and high-performance compute for AI-driven synthesis. Drive improvements to developer productivity using modern CI/CD best practices (ArgoCD). Automate deployment of in-house and third-party systems across cloud and on-prem environments (AWS & GCP). Maintain and evolve our Kubernetes infrastructure (EKS). Support the rollout and operationalisation of new Chemify sites. Enable high-performance compute for AI-driven synthesis R&D workloads. Evaluate emerging technologies and influence architecture decisions. Mentor teammates and contribute to collaborative engineering culture through reviews, planning, and design. Contribute to team-wide initiatives, including code reviews, design discussions, process improvements and workstream planning.

What youll bring:




BSc or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science related field. 5+ years commercial DevOps engineering experience. High EQ: clear communicator who enjoys pairing with engineers and domain experts. Proficiency with Python and extensive experience with IaC frameworks such as Terraform and AWS CDK. Knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres. Expertise with

cloud-based data services

(AWS/GCP/Azure). Proven ability working with containerised technologies (Docker). Hands-on experience managing DNS infrastructure and networking fundamentals within cloud and on-prem environments. Experience using AI-assisted coding and development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) as part of modern best practices. Expert in continuous integration/continuous deployment and tools such as Gitlab and ArgoCD.

Beneficial Skills:

Interest in chemistry, manufacturing, or robotics. Previous experience in Life Sciences, AI Drug Discovery or Manufacturing. Multi-Cloud experience (AWS / GCP). Experience managing on prem infrastructure. * Interest in networking platforms (Cisco Meraki).
