Role Overview



The Senior Digital Account Executive plays a key role in delivering high-quality, results-driven marketing campaigns that meet client objectives and performance targets. Combining strong project management skills with digital marketing know-how, this role ensures campaigns are executed efficiently, on time, and to a consistently high standard across multiple channels. The Senior Digital Account Executive supports clear, proactive client communication - providing updates, insights, and recommendations that build trust and strengthen relationships. Working closely with Account Managers and the Head of Delivery, they help translate client goals into actionable, data-led digital strategies and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth. In addition, the role contributes to new business development by supporting the creation of tailored marketing proposals and plays an active part in enhancing departmental processes, sharing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across the team.

1. Campaign Delivery



Definition:

Owns the delivery and execution of SEO, PPC and social media ads campaigns, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time, and aligned with the client's strategy and KPIs.

Plans, builds, and optimises multi-channel marketing campaigns (e.g., SEO, PPC and social). Monitors campaign performance, proactively identifies issues or opportunities, and adjusts tactics accordingly. Coordinates with internal specialists (design, dev, account managers) to ensure cohesive execution. Delivers all monthly recurring work as per client retainers or project scopes. Ensures campaign reporting and analysis are completed accurately and on schedule.

2. Supporting Client Communication



Definition:

Supports strong client relationships by contributing to clear, proactive, and value-driven communication that supports retention and growth.

Looks like in practice:



Attends and contributes to client meetings, both virtual and in-person. Communicates progress, insights, and recommendations confidently and transparently. Responds to client queries in a timely, helpful, and strategic manner. Works alongside Account Managers to ensure clients feel heard, informed, and supported. Escalates issues early and participates in resolution plans.

3. Client Strategy



Definition:

Translates each client's commercial objectives into a measurable, data-led digital marketing strategy that drives growth and delivers tangible business outcomes.

Analyses client objectives, market position, competitors, and performance data. Develops and documents digital strategies across relevant channels. Identifies and presents cross-sell or upsell opportunities based on client goals and data insights. Reviews strategy performance regularly, adapting to changing client needs and market conditions. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure the strategy is fully integrated.

4. Sales Strategy



Definition:

Supports the business development process by crafting tailored marketing strategies for prospective clients that demonstrate commercial understanding and measurable value.

Looks like in practice:



Reviews prospect briefs and identifies key objectives, challenges, and opportunities. Prepares data-driven, actionable marketing plans for sales presentations. Collaborates with sales and leadership to build compelling pitches and proposals. Represents the strategic function in sales meetings when required.

5. Department Development



Definition:

Contributes to the ongoing improvement of the marketing department through innovation, process development, and team capability building.

Identifies and researches emerging tools, technologies, and best practices. Documents and improves delivery processes for efficiency and consistency. Shares knowledge through internal training, mentoring, or documentation. Collaborates with peers to set and maintain departmental standards and quality benchmarks. Contributes ideas to the Head of Delivery on how to scale impact and quality across clients.

Qualifications and Experience:



2+ years' experience in a digital marketing or account management role within an agency or in-house marketing team. Proven track record of planning, executing, and optimising SEO, PPC, and/or paid social campaigns that deliver measurable business results. Strong understanding of digital marketing performance metrics, analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Looker Studio), and campaign tracking. Experience managing multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously, with strong organisational and time management skills. Confident communicator with experience presenting insights and recommendations to clients or stakeholders. Working knowledge of key tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs, and CRM or project management software. Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies that align with client goals. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with internal teams (design, development, content, and account management). Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality output across deliverables. A degree or professional qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field is advantageous but not essential -- equivalent experience is valued. Google Ads or Meta Blueprint certification is a plus.
