ROLE OVERVIEW:
54 are seeking an experienced
Senior Director - Strategic Advisory
to lead 54's strategic growth initiatives and key client advisory. This executive will play a critical role in driving investment strategy, strategic alliances, and long-term planning across the sports, media, and entertainment sectors. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, the establishment of a new sporting league, and is passionate about shaping the future of sports.
The individual will work in a high-performing advisory team, working collaboratively with senior leadership, and contributing to 54's wider strategic goals. They will be expected to have a significant impact on the future growth of the company's advisory services and drive new opportunities to the company and therefore will be expected to possess deep industry insight across multiple sports and a wide network of professional relationships globally.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Advisory & Consultancy:
Develop and refine strategic frameworks related to league/team growth, expansion, commercialization, fan engagement, media rights, and sponsorship.
Advise clients on business model innovation, digital transformation, and new market entry strategies.
Build and maintain expertise in emerging trends shaping global sports (e.g., streaming, private equity, NIL, betting, global expansion).
Lead the development of strategic plans, feasibility studies, and advisory reports for a wide range of sports-related projects.
Advise clients on governance structures, funding models, and long-term growth strategies across sport organisations, events, and facilities.
Deliver high-impact, data-driven client reports and presentations.
Use data and insights to inform strategic recommendations and commercial decisions for clients.
Investment and Funding Strategy:
Define the legal and regulatory structure of establishing an investment fund.
Define the fund's investment thesis and create a framework for sourcing, evaluating and selecting investment opportunities.
Develop and execute a fundraising strategy to attract limited partners and investors.
Provide portfolio management advisory services.
Commercial Strategy & Business Development:
Identify, secure, and manage new advisory opportunities across sports, geographies, and client types (governing bodies, rights holders, leagues, clubs, federations, etc.).
Build and nurture senior relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders.
Represent and expand the profile of 54 in the global sports market through thought leadership, partnerships, and presence at major industry events.
Drive the growth and diversification of the advisory service offering.
Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to align advisory services with wider company goals.
Client Leadership / Management
Lead major client engagements across sports leagues, franchises, media companies, investors, and brands.
Serve as the senior point of contact for key relationships, providing thought leadership and strategic counsel.
Translate client needs into tailored, data-backed solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Champion innovation, operational excellence, and strategic thinking within the advisory function.

SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/APTITUDES NEEDED:
Proven experience (15+ years) in a senior advisory, strategy, or consultancy role, preferably within the sports industry.
Strong understanding of the global sports landscape across multiple disciplines.
Finance acumen with demonstrated success in fund establishment, investment modelling and capital raising.
Experience leading a high-performing team.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Advanced analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
