Location: WHU Foundation Beckton Office, with outreach in schools across East London and Essex

With the opening of our brand-new Community Hub Headquarters, we're entering an exciting new chapter. This state-of-the-art facility will triple our delivery footprint and provide an inspirational space for our growing community work.
We are now seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Senior Education Coordinator to lead and expand our work with young people in secondary schools. This role will primarily lead the delivery of two flagship programmes: Premier League Inspires and the Premier League PFA Community Hub Schools Programme. Both initiatives use football as a tool to engage disaffected young people, enhancing their mental wellbeing, attendance, attainment, and life skills through innovative and tailored curriculum delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing school relationships, managing staff, and contributing to the growth of WHUF's educational offer.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead coordinator for Premier League Inspires, overseeing all programme delivery.
  • Coordinate the Premier League PFA Community Hub Schools programme.
  • Line manage sessional staff within the Education Department.
  • Lead on monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for key programmes, including data entry to Salesforce.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner schools across East London and Essex.
  • Deliver engaging curriculum sessions, one-to-one mentoring, and interventions to young people aged 11-16.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Education Department.
  • Lead the design and development of engaging workshops and resources for secondary school delivery.
  • Represent WHUF at relevant Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF) meetings, events, and training.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for young people.

Person Specification
Education/Experience/Skillset:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth engagement and education, with a proactive, strategic mindset and the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Essential:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in education, youth work, or related field.
  • Level 2 Sports Coaching qualification (any sport).
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating youth or education programmes.
  • Experience working in secondary school and/or community settings with young people aged 11-16.
  • Line management experience.
  • Ability to build positive partnerships with schools and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, curriculum design, and evaluation.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
Desirable:
  • Level 2 Mentoring qualification.
  • Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk young people.
  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
