Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. You will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems across a range of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and delivery. Produce and review electrical schematics, SLD, BCDs & Cable schedules, P&ID, I/O Schedules, layouts, calculations, and technical documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, software, and project engineers. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BS7671, IEC standards). Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design, ideally in building services, or manufacturing sectors. Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools. Experience in designed electrical LV power & distribution Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable.

Working Hours

The working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week, from 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 1pm on Friday. The business is closed for Bank Holidays, and we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.
