Job Description

Torus Measurement Systems Ltd manufacture inspection equipment providing dimensional, visual and destructive testing solutions predominately for the Metal and Plastic Packaging Industries, specifically for Food and Beverage Can / Plastic Bottle Manufacturers.

Torus Measurement Systems Ltd are recruiting a full-time senior electrical design engineer responsible for the design of complex control systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Design of electrical control systems for automation and measurement Entering and revising parts and bills of materials in Sage in accordance with Torus data entry procedures. Producing and updating detailed electrical drawing and schematic drawings using AutoCAD LT in accordance with Torus standards. Producing 3D layouts of electrical panels along with 2D layout drawings. Allowing correct placement of parts to meet current electrical standards. Also creating consistency in build. Correct part selection to meet electrical specification. Correct current and voltage determination of system demands. Operating within necessary directives and standards for the control and conformance of the Design department documents. Maintaining the standard of design administration in regards to the internal Torus IMS system, Torus' stock control systems. Working closely with the mechanical, software, helpdesk and integration teams in order to deliver solutions in a timely and successful manner. Working with service engineers to solve electrical issues on site. Safety PLC programming through Pilz PNOZ software to accordance to meet the correct Pl-e rating in ISO 13849-1 Liaising with the shop floor for any electrical design issues found and to come up with solutions. Knowledge of PLC systems would be advantageous Knowledge of stepper/servo control systems Awareness of the requirements of CE accreditation Expectations of occasional overseas travel

The successful candidate will have the following skills:



Achieved an Engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent, ideally in a Electrically biased course.

Be proficient in using the Microsoft Office software Package; predominantly Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills - verbal and written Experience of detailing electrical drawings Experience in using AutoCAD LT or equivalent Ability to achieve without ongoing supervision - both as a team and individually Over 2 years of experience working in engineering Experience with system assembly, testing and fault finding. Excellent problem-solving skills

The following skills and capabilities are desirable:



Understanding of dimensional measurement principles Experience of metrology systems Experience of using an MRP system - i.e. Sage

Hours of work 39 per week



Mon-Thurs 8.30-5.15, Fri 8.00 - 2pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year
