Petrofac is seeking an Electrical Designer 3 - Contractor, based in Aberdeen.
Job Title:
Electrical Designer 3 - Contractor
Work Scope:
Provide design input to estimates for project work scopes
Provide technical expertise to produce design deliverables supporting modifications to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment including:
o HV/LV switchgear
o HV/LV electrical drives
o Variable speed drives and thyristor controls
o UPS systems
o Power generation and distribution
o Power system studies and electrical protection
o Other associated electrical equipment with the Oil and Gas industry Provide technical design expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
To be able to conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
To be able to produce calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews.
Provide checking and approval of discipline documents, complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary
Production of discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work pack
Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
Be responsible for continuing professional development necessary to maintain and enhance competence in own area of practice
