The Senior Electrician will be responsible for overseeing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with current regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities primarily across agricultural sites
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to carry out installations accurately
Install, connect, and maintain electrical systems including pumps, motors, and associated control equipment
Diagnose electrical and control system faults efficiently using appropriate testing devices and methods
Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, safety standards, and company policies
Coordinate with other trades and departments to ensure smooth project execution on site
Manage and mentor junior electricians, providing guidance and technical support where required
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections carried out
Oversee procurement of electrical components, control equipment, and tools required for projects
Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a strong culture of safety awareness within the team
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding within agricultural environments
(industrial and commercial experience also beneficial)
Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, wiring practices, and relevant regulations
Confident reading and working from technical drawings and schematics
Technically minded with the ability to adapt to new and unfamiliar control systems
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnostics
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage work on site and coordinate others effectively
Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and other trades
