This role sits within the Communications function of HSBC UK, supporting the management and implementation of the communications strategy for WPB UK.

The role holder will be a skilled internal communicator with proven experience of planning and executing strategic internal communications across a range of digital and face to face channels. You will have excellent writing skills, be able to expertly manage a broad range of stakeholders, develop communications strategies, navigate a matrix structure with ease, and have plenty of experience in planning and producing creative content and events in a range of formats.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide employee communications strategic planning, guidance and advice. Use employee insight to develop and advise on employee communications and inform business debate, decision making and strategy. Support employee communications campaigns from WPB and HSBC UK.
  • Support the development, delivery and measurement of an effective, clear employee communications strategy for the Head of WPB UK and other selected business areas within WPB UK.
  • Act as a deputy to Head of Communications, WPB UK, sharing ownership for development and delivery of the communications strategy, and supporting the development of other team members.
  • Act as communications partner and trusted adviser to the office of the Head of the Head of WPB UK and other selected areas of WPB UK, working closely with the support team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop, manage and execute leadership communications plan for WPB UK., with the Head of Communications WPB UK
  • Work with leadership teams for other business areas within WPB UK, such as Mortgages and Everyday Banking
  • Recommend and deliver engaging methods of communicating key messages \xe2\x80\x93 including digital, broadcast, and live events
Requirements:

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Able to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritise and reconcile competing demands and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in developing and implementing end-to-end employee communication plans at a senior level
  • Strong experience and confidence in working directly with senior leadership teams with great stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in communicating change in a creative way
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent knowledge of communication trends and best practice
  • Understanding of role of external communication and media relations, and how to work effectively with those teams
The role is based at our head office in Birmingham on a hybrid basis. You will be expected to be in the office three days per week.
