The Group Communications team is responsible for building and maintaining our reputation and brand, and for engaging and communicating with our 6,000 colleagues.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Senior Internal Communications Manager to join our busy Group Communications team. Reporting into the Head of Internal Comms & PR, you will play a key role in delivering OUP\xe2\x80\x99s Group internal communications activities, in line with the Group Communications strategy. You\xe2\x80\x99ll provide quality support and consultancy to leaders within OUP, especially its Group Functions, and deliver high-profile campaigns that inform, inspire, and connect with our audiences. You will also have responsibility for contributing to Group Communications\xe2\x80\x99 global planning activities, which help the whole team to manage time and resources effectively.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll regularly work and interact with colleagues from all over the world, and across all levels of seniority, so an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships is essential.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be enthusiastic, motivated, passionate about our mission, and eager to make a positive difference to our team, and our activities.

The specific skills we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for include:

  • Proven experience of delivering internal communication
  • Excellent standard of English, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate in a variety of styles
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate confidently with people at all levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, project manage campaigns, and prioritize successfully
  • Initiative and drive
  • Excellent skills across standard software: Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook
The following skills and experiences are also desirable, but not essential:
  • Experience of using Sharepoint or Office 365
  • Experience of developing video content
Please note that this is a fixed term contract for 6 months covering maternity leave, with the possibility of an extension, and we hope to have the successful candidate in place by December 2023 to allow time for a handover.
