Senior Employment Advisor.

Reporting to:

Team Lead and Head of Contracts.

Salary: Band 5

- Salary 30,257k per annum - Pro Rata'd for the contract length.

Hours:

37 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract:

Until 31st March 2026, with a possible extension should funding be extended.

Job Purpose:



The Senior Employment Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the team's success and ensuring high-quality service delivery, supporting individuals into employment, education and training. The post holder will not manage their own caseload directly but will instead, supplement delivery as required across our employment projects, the advisor will also lead and guide team members, enhancing team performance to meet and exceed KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:



Caseload Management:



Delivery to participants across the projects as needed, to support advisors with gaps in service, or to support with achievement of performance profiles.

Monthly supervisions to be conducted with the employment advisors and fed back to Team Lead.

Mentor and guide team members, offering advice and support to enable effective service delivery.

Lead monthly caseload reviews and file audits to ensure compliance and best practices.

Training of staff, inclusive of updated delivery requirements, inductions and new starter training.

Service Quality and Safety:



Provide direction to ensure a safe and effective service for all participants.

Act as a point of escalation for safeguarding concerns, following all legal and organisational protocols.

Meetings and Communication:



Lead team meetings and support the Team Lead in executing organisational directives.

Attend both internal and external meetings, maintaining accurate and updated records.

Performance Monitoring:



Identify performance gaps within the team and communicate concerns with management to ensure swift intervention and improvement.

Regularly review KPIs and motivate the team to achieve and exceed expectations.

Support performance management activity such as implementing 4-week supportive action plans with the view to performance improvement, with the support of Team Lead.

Conflict Resolution and Complaints:



Address and resolve any conflicts or complaints within the team or from participants, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

Continuous Improvement:



Work closely with the Team Lead to identify and implement opportunities for service improvements.

Support the induction of new employees and identify training needs within the team to enhance skills and knowledge.

Additional Responsibilities:



Adhere to all Better Pathways policies, including health and safety and equality and diversity.

Undertake any other duties within the scope and expectations of the role as required.

Skills and Experience:



Essential:



Proven experience in a similar advisory or employment support role.

Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience in influencing team performance.

A hands-on approach with a can-do attitude is a must.

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and adherence to relevant legal requirements.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster a supportive team environment.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle conflict effectively.

Desirable:



Knowledge of the local labour market and experience in community-based employment programs.

Relevant qualifications in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) or similar fields.

Benefits:



30 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays - This will be Pro rata' for length of contract
