Are you an experienced Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading team in the automotive industry? Our client is a market-leading international group specialising in customisable testing solutions, and vehicle engineering. As an Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in their ICE team. Working alongside Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers, or Engineering Managers, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects and gradually take on more complex responsibilities as customer demands evolve.

Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\x93

  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Achieve engineering objectives under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Develop accurate test bed setups by generating engine installation packs and schematics.
  • Identify and collaborate on effective solutions for engine/test delivery faults.
  • Process and validate engine test data, analysing trends and identifying areas of concern.
  • Provide support to colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Track project efficiency and manage project-related invoicing.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Participate actively in regular customer update meetings.
  • Act in accordance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s values and behaviours.
Qualifications and Experience: \xe2\x80\x93
  • Automotive/Mechanical Engineering HND or Degree. Alternatively, relevant test bed operation experience will be considered.
  • Experience in an automotive engineering discipline.
  • Experience in an automotive testing environment, specifically test bed operations.
  • Excellent understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation, including thermocouples and pressure transducers.
  • Ability to create test automation procedures/schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Experience working closely with customer engineering teams to establish and execute test programs.
  • Familiarity with a variety of engine types (Petrol, Diesel, High Performance, Heavy Duty, Alternative Fuels).
  • Strong understanding of engine fundamentals and materials characteristics.
  • Proficiency with engine test cell equipment and software, including engine dynos, instrumentation, and calibration tools.
  • Familiarity with emissions measurement equipment is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of AVL Puma, Horiba STARS, and/or Kratzer PATools test automation systems. In-depth knowledge of other automation systems will also be considered.
  • Data interpretation, critique, and presentation using Excel and/or AVL Concerto.
  • Strong report writing skills using company standard templates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
