Job Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent Senior Engineer to help in the development of application-level software for high performance passenger car applications. This role could be your next rewarding challenge, based in a modern facility at the MIRA Technology park, we offer a fast-paced, challenging and diverse role, focused on project delivery for the right candidate.

The Role and Key Responsibilities

  • You will be part of an experienced team, responsible for delivering application software for customer projects into electrified powertrains. With focus on understanding complete powertrain architecture, interfaces and transmission control, ideally Dual Clutch Transmissions.
  • Immediate opportunity to take on project delivery responsibility on Global OEM and Tier 1 programmes:
  • Eliciting and implementing requirements from design to production
  • Supporting development activities to commission, debug and optimise electrified powershifting transmission systems
  • Involvement in validation / verification / test programs for embedded systems to ensure designs are fit for purpose; including Functional Safety aspects
  • Progressive responsibility and hands-on experience with vehicle system architectures and control system applications
Skills and Experience
  • Ideally hold a Masters degree in automotive systems engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (Senior) or 8 year (Principal) in engineering filed related to software development and/or powertrain calibration
  • Core experience of algorithm design & implementation in model-based environment using Matlab/Simulink or Ascet-SD
  • Vehicle and/or test-rig based development experience
  • Vehicle and controller communication networks; e.g. CAN, CAN-FD, J1939, XCP
  • A good awareness of Functional Safety
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of automated transmission and electrified powertrain control
  • Experience of transmission software delivery, testing and engineering sign-off.
  • Knowledge of calibration tools (ideally CANape)
  • Innovative with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Have a good understanding of the interface and interactions between electrical and mechanical systems
  • The ability to solve engineering problems using a structured, logical approach
  • Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly and influence at all levels across a Global organisation
  • Sound analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritise effectively
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethical behaviour in self and others; commitment to inclusion and diversity
