We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Engineer Consultant to join our team. This is a key role, providing technical leadership across a range of mechanical engineering projects, particularly within the oil & gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of complex mechanical engineering projects, ensuring high standards across all phases.
Provide expert technical input and guidance to multidisciplinary project teams.
Develop and oversee stress analysis throughout the project lifecycle, including Design, Asset Operation, Asset Optimisation, and Research & Development.
Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams--building strong, lasting professional relationships.
Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to a collaborative and learning-focused culture.
This is a permanent full-time position, subject to a probationary period.
About You
You will be a Chartered Engineer or Scientist with 10+ years' experience in the development and application of methods related to structural integrity, reliability, and risk. You are technically confident, proactive, and capable of leading engineering projects in high-integrity industries.
Essential Requirements:
Chartered status (CEng or equivalent).
Proven experience in the oil & gas or nuclear sector.
Strong expertise in engineering software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, and CAESAR II.
Solid understanding of pipeline, piping, and pressure vessel design codes and failure modes.
Strong expertise of fracture and fatigue assessments and their application to safety cases.
Experience of leading technical teams and delivering high technical work to a high standard on time.
Ability to develop and mentor engineers.
Ability to present and articulate at high profile technical seminars.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Positive attitude and effective team collaboration.
