The Role:
At Ablebox, we're growing fast and investing in the future! Ablebox is expanding into its third manufacturing site and recently added to its production capacity with 3 new lines being installed. We're seeking a highly skilled and pro-active Senior Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving our production systems across the business.
As a Senior Engineer, you will work closely with the Senior Management Team, taking a hands-on approach to the long-term maintenance of our production equipment. This role is perfect for a highly capable, experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, tackling challenges head-on, and ensuring machinery operates at peak efficiency:
Key Responsibilities:
Process Optimisation - Identify and resolve early-stage operational issues, fine-tuning machinery and processes to eliminate inefficiencies.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) - Once equipment is fully integrated, develop and implement robust PPM schedules to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
Reactive Maintenance & Troubleshooting - Lead fault-finding and breakdown response, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
Continuous Improvement - Drive efficiency improvements, reliability enhancements, and health & safety initiatives across the site.
The Candidate:
Proven experience in mechanical & electrical engineering practices
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges
Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Manufacturing maintenance background, ideally with lean principles experience
Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Excellent communicator and a strong team player
Experience with machine installation and commissioning (preferred)
IOSH trained (preferred but not essential)

Location:
The role will be primarily based from our manufacturing site in Yeovil with the occasional need to work from our Sherborne & Henstridge sites when required.
