Job Description

We are recruiting for a Senior Environmental Adviser to join us here at Octavius.



We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK

You'll be working on.... (what your role and responsibility is)





Driving our Sustainability Legacy objectives across both project and company levels. You'll lead environmental compliance from pre-construction through to operational phases, ensuring risks are identified early and managed effectively. Your work will include developing and reviewing CEMPs/ESMPs, managing sustainability reporting (carbon, biodiversity, circular economy), and supporting our teams in embedding best practices aligned with ISO 14001 and PAS 2080 standards.

A team of highly motivated, dedicated professionals delivering projects across a variety of frameworks with clients such as Network Rail, National Highways and Local Authorisities. Collaboration is key, you'll engage with procurement, pre-construction, SHE teams, and external consultants to ensure environmental excellence is achieved and maintained.

You'll bring... (your wealth of experience & qualifications)




A degree or higher in a relevant environmental discipline (essential) Membership of a relevant professional body such as IEMA, CIWEM, or CIEEM (desirable) Knowledge of ISO 14001 and PAS 2080 (essential) Experience in civil engineering projects, ideally in rail or highways (desirable) Strong auditing, reporting, and risk assessment skills A UK driving license (essential) Proficiency in MS Office and sustainability data platforms like SmartWaste
