Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cost estimation and project management within the construction or engineering sectors. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can accurately assess project costs, manage budgets, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that all estimates are precise and align with company standards and client expectations.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for Cat5e, Cat6/6a, Cat7, Fibre Optic projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Analyse drawings using estimating software, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate project scopes and timelines. Order placing and cost negotiation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing structures, and market conditions. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Review and adjust estimates based on changes in project scope or specifications. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing proposals and presenting estimates to clients.

Skills

Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in cost control methods and techniques. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in estimations. Familiarity with construction management software and estimating tools is advantageous. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
