Senior Estimator - Construction

Role Overview

Bespoke Construction Group are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team, The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, supporting tender submissions, and providing commercial guidance throughout the pre-construction phase. The role involves analysing drawings, specifications, and contract requirements while coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure bids are commercially viable and aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess scope, risks, and opportunities Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders within deadlines Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives Assess project risks, contingencies, and commercial assumptions Collaborate with project managers, engineers, planners, and commercial teams during bid stages Provide handover information to project delivery teams after contract award Maintain up-to-date cost databases, rates, and market intelligence

Experience & Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry Proven track record of successful tender submissions Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, industry standards & contracts Experience working with subcontractor packages and procurement strategies High level of accuracy and attention to detail Commercial awareness and cost control mindset Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines Excellent negotiation and communication skills Proficient in Spreadsheets and take-off tools Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
