Hill, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences' (FEHHS) Marketing, Events and Communications Team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to the role of

Senior Events and Marketing Officer (maternity cover).

The role-holder will be responsible for the management of the events, including the planning, delivery, evaluation, and reporting, of all events held within the faculty which include undergraduate and postgraduate open days, offer-holder days as well as some other faculty events.

Bringing experience of running successful events experience - along with very strong organisational and project management skills, a creative flair for delivering impactful events, a desire to offer excellent customer service and a keen eye for detail - you will be responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality events. You will need to be able to plan and promote events and deal with all aspects of event administration from logistics such as room setups and arranging catering and event 'dressing', from staffing and technology needs to producing promotional materials and documentation. And, as well as leading on planning, you will also need the ability to be a highly visible and proactive lead - able to take charge, direct others and problem-solve on your feet.

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in writing, over the telephone and in person) and will develop close working relationships with the university's Marketing and External Relations Directorate (MER) and staff across FEHHS. You will have experience of working successfully in an events environment, ideally in a higher education setting, and will have great people skills and know how to provide excellent customer service as well as being a supportive colleague and team player.

The role also requires a high level of flexibility, the ability to cover events (which may be out-of-normal hours or at weekends) across all three campuses, experience of anticipating problems and identifying solutions, the skills to analyse data, the ability to manage your own workload and projects, and a proactive 'can-do' outlook.
