Szerelmey are well known for the cleaning and repair of facades and the design, supply and installation of stonework for all types of external and internal applications. The projects we work on include cultural and historical buildings, government buildings, hospitals, educational institutions, commercial/office developments, large residential buildings and high end private residences. Szerelmey contracts also include other facade materials such as masonry, pre-cast concrete, faience, and aluminium as well as the design of the backing wall structure which could be lightweight framing systems or solid traditional walls of concrete or masonry.

Szerelmey is recruiting a senior facade designer to support their facade design team, by preparing cladding and flooring layout, detail and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit. Also design of steel bracket and connections, technical drawings and analysis / calculations, design of small steel structures and facade engineering using Inventor and Mathcad. The successful candidate would ideally have experience of designing and detailing in stainless steel, designing whole wall solutions (cladding and backing structure), producing structural calculations for various cladding materials and backing structures, producing u-value calculations and/or 3d thermal analysis of the building envelope. Practical experience gained from working in a design and build contractor is preferred to consultancy or manufacturer experience

Other duties: Will include but will not be limited to visiting construction sites for the purpose of conducting surveys and attending design meetings. Liaising with main contractors, architects, engineers, other sub-contractors and third party suppliers as and when required.

Criteria:

- Preferred diploma or degree level in architecture and engineering other further and higher education certificates will be judged by relevance to our industry.

- Previous experience in an architectural practice or cladding sub-contractor would be advantageous, working in RIBA stage 4 - 5 design.

- The ability to produce drawings in either AutoCAD, Inventor or Revit which are used in the design office to streamline the cladding design process as well as meeting contractual BIM to BS EN ISO 19650-1 & 2 . Training will be provided as required.

- Liaise with all parties in the design process

- Being able to work well within a team.

- Analytically and practically minded, self-motivated, reliable, able to organise work-load and meet deadlines.

- Be familiar with or willing to acquire knowledge of relevant British Standards / Eurocodes and Building Regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-70,000.00 per year
