Senior Facilitator (Farm Operations & Team Development)
Main purpose of job:
As the Senior Facilitator at Little Gate Farm, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operation of the farm and the wellbeing of trainees through facilitation, coaching, and coordination. Rather than managing, this role is about enabling others to lead well.
You will hold responsibility for operational rhythm, safeguarding, health & safety, pastoral oversight, and team development. You will bring people together to solve problems, embed the Skills Builder framework, and ensure communication is clear, purposeful and aligned with our values. Through strong facilitation and calm leadership, you will help foster a collaborative, inclusive environment where both staff and trainees thrive in a self-managing culture.

Salary:
31,200 per annum (15 per hour, 40 hours per week)
Probationary period:
6 months
Holiday Entitlement:
5.6 weeks
Contract type:
Permanent.
40 hours per week.
Monday - Friday. 8 hours per day between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
You may be asked occasionally to work outside of these hours, with agreement.

Main tasks of job:
Operational & Emergency Leadership
Lead the day-to-day coordination of the farm, ensuring it runs smoothly, safely and in line with our values.
Organise and lead tours, visits, and support events, to showcase the farm's mission and impact to visitors and partners.
Supported Employment Link
Work closely with the Supported Employment team to ensure trainees are matched to the right placements and pathways.
Share knowledge about trainee needs, adjustments, and progress to enable successful transitions to work.
Staff Coaching & Development
Provide regular 1:1 coaching to farm team members to build confidence, reflect on practice, and promote shared problem-solving.
Skills Builder & Trainee Progress
Facilitate a strong, consistent skills training programme that develops both employment and life skills.
Promote joined-up planning so trainees experience consistency across teams and days.
Team Facilitation & Collaboration
Bring teams together to work collaboratively and take shared ownership of challenges and outcomes.
Model values-led, strengths-based leadership aligned with self-managing team principles.
Safeguarding & Pastoral Support
Be part of the organisational Safeguarding Team, supporting staff to notice, report and respond to concerns.
Communication & Coordination
Ensure key updates, plans and changes are shared clearly and on time, using tools like OneNote.
Support a culture of celebration and trust through consistent and open communication.

Person Specification
Essential criteria
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including confidence in leading purposeful meetings and reflective conversations.
Proven leadership experience with a coaching approach, empowering others and building shared responsibility.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Resilience in fast-paced, changeable environments, with the ability to remain calm, clear and grounded.
Optimistic, positive attitude that motivates others and supports team wellbeing.
Compassionate and inclusive mindset with a commitment to valuing all individuals.
Self-aware and reflective, with a willingness to grow and learn.
Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals (training provided).
Willingness to undertake all relevant training.
Ability to travel independently to Little Gate Farm (no reliable public transport).
Subject to enhanced DBS check.
Comfortable using digital tools and systems, with the ability to learn new technology quickly and independently.
A commitment to empowering people with learning disabilities and autism.
Competency in Microsoft Office 365 and a range of workplace digital tools
Desirable Criteria
Appointed First Aider qualification or willingness to train.
Understanding of Health & Safety and risk assessment processes.
Experience or training in Systematic Instruction.
Experience working with learning disabled and autistic individuals.
Understanding and/or experience of supported employment (BASE model)
Qualifications;
A minimum of Grade 4 / GCSE C in Maths and English (or equivalent).
