Position:


We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Field Service Engineer covering Scotland, to join our team in Baillieston, Glasgow.


The purpose of this role is to undertake the install, repair and service the range of Handicare Products to our customer base and to act as a deputy for the Regional Field Service Manager.


Key outputs and deliverables include:


To install and service Handicare products in a customer focused and time efficient manner
To identify, analyse and repair product failures
To keep van stock at optimum levels at all time to ensure rework visits are at a minimum
To ensure that the van allocated is maintained in line with the Fleet Policy, by undertaking regular safety feature checks (tyres, mirrors, oil etc), ensure serviced and repaired where necessary
To provide technical training and basic user functionality training to the customer base where required (ensure user training is undertaken on installation)
Provide technical training on all product related issues to customers, employees, and our Trade Partners
Be a point of contact for Field Service Engineers for technical/ customer queries or complaints. o Cover for holiday/ absences by taking part in out-of-hours technical support telephone contact line (if required)
Deputise for the Regional Field Service Manager where required, this may include representing the business at external client/ customer meetings
Attendance at joint installations
Remain flexible in assisting with other projects/ roles as required.
Ensure that own time is managed efficiently to ensure the customer receives the highest possible standard of attendance/ service
Liaise with internal teams to ensure any customer issues are relayed across the relevant departments
To maintain clear, professional and pro-active communication with our customers at all times
To maintain and manage company assets assigned
Undertake any training identified by the company
Ensure that Risk Assessments & Method Statements are understood by the Engineer carrying out their work activity
To respect the long-term stability of Handicare by keeping expenses to a minimum
Ensure that they adhere to Health & Safety training along with wearing the correct P.P.E Carry out Quality Inspections, highlighting poor installation practice & highlight any Health & Safety issues or concerns
Maintain awareness of health & safety of self, and others around themselves at all times (especially in relation to Safe Isolation, technically bulletins and installation guides)
Cover a 24/7 365 on-call rota, including Bank Holidays


Within this role you will be responsible for installing, servicing and repairing our products. In order to be successful within this role you will need to be self-motivated, driven and be able to provide great customer service. You will need to be reliable and confident working independently as well as part of a team. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel within the region you are based and therefore a full, clean driving licence is required. You will also be required to take part in an 1 in 4 on-call rota for 7 days.

Requirements:
GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent), literate & numerate
Full UK Driving License
Diagnostic techniques
Experience with stairlift installation and maintenance (NVQ Level 2 desirable)
Electrical installation skills (desirable)
Supervisory experience (desirable)
Local geographic knowledge of the required area
Understanding of hazards and risks
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong time management and task prioritisation
Professional, smart appearance with a tidy and organised approach
Friendly, approachable, and polite, with a courteous telephone manner
Flexible and adaptable attitude
