ROLE DESCRIPTION





This newly created role will support the Senior Finance Manager to provide financial oversight, as well as the reporting and presentation of C4's business growth initiatives which is a key pillar of our Fast Forward Strategy, and will be heavily involved in plans to set up and scale these revenue streams. The Finance Analyst will interpret and analyse the performance and results of multiple business areas and provide recommendations on how to drive more value for the organisation, as well as supporting the successful execution of operational plans. They will also do the financial modelling required to assess potential investment opportunities which may arise.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





Business Support


Work closely to build strong relationships with key budget owners across the business.

Key existing revenue streams include:

C4 Ventures

- Monitoring upcoming deals, balance sheet risk, revenue opportunities

Indie Growth Fund

-Built through acquiring non-controlling interest in small indie production companies. Support on assessing business plans, due diligence on new investments, and exits, as well as valuations for follow on investments

Channel 4+

- Our ad-free subscription arm. Work with the business and insights team to build robust reporting and forecasting capability to help us build a deep understanding of the key drivers of the business. . Evaluate promotional offers, marketing activity and/or pricing strategies.

Plus rigorous evaluation of new business opportunities such as:

IP Ownership

- part of FastForward strategy to diversify revenues - exploring how we can produce and monetise our own content. Owning the financial modelling behind the business plan Evaluate other new business opportunities which arise Be a trusted advisor to the business, helping them to understand the importance of generating a financial return for C4 Provides support and recommendations on business cases and investment decisions, considering financial and non-financial criteria

FP&A Activities and Reporting


Work with stakeholders to construct and deliver the consolidated forward-looking projections of the business (forecasts, budgets, strategic plans) with a high level of accuracy- as well as scenario planning where required Develop and implement, with the FP&A team, further analytical or comparative reporting to improve understanding and applicability for forward looking plans Review, interpret and present monthly results to key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities to improve business and preparing quality insight-led management information packs Quarterly Business Review support - prepare and analyse KPIs and financial results,as well as input into deep dives where required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE


Fully Qualified Accountant with at least 3+ years' post qualified experience Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with, and providing constructive challenge to the business Experience delivering key financial outputs such as monthly reporting and long range planning Previous media experience essential; experience of content creation, D2C subscription businesses, corporate finance a bonus Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills (Advanced Excel, Power BI) Strong eye for detail and know your numbers Robust understanding of P&L, Balance sheet and cash modelling- plus company valuations Excellent commercial awareness, able to see the big picture Ability to work at pace and comfortable with ambiguity Strong time management skills; organised in their work and comfortable working across multiple areas, able to prioritise the important issues and be a self-starter High levels of personal credibility, professionalism and ethical standards Be committed to and aligned with the Channel 4 remit

Hybrid Working





From September 2023 employees will be working minimum 3 days per week in their office location. The other 2 days should be working from home. This is to create more time for collaboration, creativity, learning and feedback. We also have a working from another location policy for up to 10 days. This pattern is subject to future changes which would be communicated in advance to provide employees with adequate notice of any change. Basic salary per annum starting from



48,025.00

Hybrid working



From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
