The Team




You'll join our Group Reporting team, working at the heart of easyJet's Finance function. We provide technical accounting guidance across the Group, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and supporting the business with expert insight and advice.

The Role




As Senior Finance Manager - Technical Accounting, you'll be responsible for providing technical accounting guidance across the Group, ensuring compliance with IFRS and supporting the implementation of new and revised accounting standards. You'll act as the first point of contact for technical accounting queries, prepare and present technical papers, and support senior management and the Audit Committee with clear, concise advice.


You'll oversee the Group accounting manual, lead the annual impairment review process, and deliver training to finance teams and stakeholders. You'll also provide technical support for new projects and business changes, ensuring accounting implications are fully considered. This is a management role, managing and developing a direct report within the technical accounting function.

Key responsibilities include:




> Preparing, reviewing, and presenting technical accounting papers to senior management and finance teams


> Providing clear recommendations and ensuring consistent application of accounting policies


> Overseeing the production and regular update of the Group accounting manual


> Supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, including IFRS S1, S2, and CSRD


> Leading the Group's annual impairment review process and preparing going concern and viability statements


> Delivering training sessions and workshops to enhance understanding of technical accounting requirements


> Building strong relationships with stakeholders across finance, legal, and commercial teams


> Coaching and developing your team

Requirements of the Role

What we're looking for




> Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/CA or equivalent)


> Recent, in-depth technical accounting experience with strong IFRS expertise (IFRS16 experience is an advantage)


> Proven ability to interpret and resolve complex accounting issues with sound judgement


> Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify and articulate complex technical matters


> Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to changes in accounting standards and best practice


> Experience in large, complex organisations, ideally with listed company reporting


> Controls conscious, with experience in a monitored control framework (e.g. SOX)


> Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to coach and develop team members

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
