Job title: Senior Financial Control and Accounting Manager
Office location with Hybrid working: Hammersmith
The Senior Financial Control and Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Hyperoptic has have a best-in-class approach to financial reporting, with monthly performance reporting for the trading company, consolidated reporting for the Group and Lenders, supported by processes and accounting policies that are effectively managed and clearly documented. The ideal candidate will ensure that Hyperoptic is fully compliant in its external reporting to shareholders, banks and government agencies and that there will be robust processes in place to manage liquidity and to protect the financial resources of the company.
What will you be doing?

  • Leading the Central Finance team: covering accounting policies, transactional accounting, tax, VAT returns, approving payment runs, expense payments and payroll. People management and coaching - developing the roles of all team members
  • Monthly financial reporting: lead the production of monthly management accounts including P/L, B/S & C/F statements for each entity and at a consolidated level
  • Annual financial statements & audit: being the primary point of contact with the external auditors, audit timetable and process, audit adjustments (overs/unders), producing the financial statements for the Hyperoptic group of companies
  • Financial compliance: ensure internal controls are adhered to across the business, maintain and circulate a compliance timetable monthly; support the formal documentation of accounting policies and report internally on the extent of non-compliance and the risks to which this exposes the company.
  • Balance Sheet: Ensure all assets and liabilities are properly accounted for and reported
  • Treasury: support the Treasury Manager as required to enable accurate cashflow forecasting. Be an administrator of the company bank accounts and credit cards.
What we are looking for?:
  • Extensive experience of working in a financial reporting function with proven people management and leadership experience
  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with extensive experience of managing audit, financial reporting and compliance; cashflow; internal governance and regulatory compliance
  • Experience of taking a leading role in setting a company's accounting policies; an emphasis on building large, complex assets would be highly desirable.
  • Experience of interpreting complex rules and summarising appropriately for practical application
  • Experience of working in a geographically dispersed team and resilient - capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • SAP knowledge and experience of an ERP upgrade or implementation would be desirable
