Cedar are recruiting a Senior Financial Controls Accountant. The role will report into the Head of Controls and support 2 junior Controls Accountants. The Hatfield based business is an industry leader, listed on the FTSE 100, and offering excellent exposure into the inner workings of a top tier tech business. The Senior Financial Controls accountant will play a significant role in implementing and developing new and existing controls. The role offers hybrid working and the successful candidate will work 2 days a week from the Hatfield offices.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Financial Controls Accountant you will be responsible for various aspects of the Group\'s financial controls. This includes:

• Taking ownership of designing, implementing, and monitoring the Financial Controls methodology, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• You will support the implementation and embedding of the second line within the Finance function and contribute to the financial controls vision and roadmap for the Group.
• Testing key controls, making recommendations for improvements, and delivering tailored training and guidance to Finance and non-finance teams will be part of your role.
• Additionally, you will be involved in drafting papers for committees, creating control metrics, and preparing KPIs.
• Your ability to interpret complex issues and develop practical recommendations will be crucial. You will drive early involvement in process changes, identify and champion improvements to financial controls, and ensure risk and control matrices are up to date.
• Collaboration with auditors and stakeholders, facilitating audits, and identifying emerging control risks will be important.
• You will ensure subsidiaries and joint ventures adhere to the Group\'s Financial Control methodology, influence a culture of strong financial controls, and present to senior finance leadership.
• In addition, you will manage ad-hoc projects, support business growth initiatives, act as a deputy to the Financial Controls Senior Manager, and be an ambassador for Financial Controls across the organization.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years post qualified experience in relevant field (ACA / ACCA)
• Have exposure implementing and developing internal controls
• Experience of designing assurance methodology (e.g. financial controls, internal audit, SoX), including implementing, designing and monitoring financial controls
• Organised and able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Ability to hold workshops, project manage and drive consensus across different stakeholder groups
• Exposure to controls in the Tech industry is desirable
