Senior Fire Risk Assessor



Location: London / Hybrid



Hours: 35



The role:




The role involves in providing Fire Safety Consultation and developing Fire Safety Strategy for a variety of projects in Built Environment. This involves using relevant fire safety guidance documents and if required, utilising Fire Engineering methods and tools in designing a performance-based fire strategy in collaboration with the project stakeholders, design team and Approving Authorities.

What you'll be doing:





Act as a point of contact for Clients providing Fire Risk Assessments

Co-ordinate with Clients delivering Fire Risk Assessments on time, in budget and to scope

Perform as Fire Risk Assessor on projects undertaking desktop reviews and site visits

Carrying out both pre-occupation and post-occupation fire risk assessments including FRAEWs and Fire Door surveys

Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and fire surveys on a wide range of new and existing buildings such as high-rise residential and non-residential buildings

Carrying out active and passive fire protection systems review

Preparing Fire Risk Assessment reports

Undertaking external facade assessment to industry standard such as EWS1 Form

Review and sign off work completed by other team members

Develop fee proposals and provide estimates for Fire Risk Assessments budget and schedule

Provide guidance to junior team members and graduates

Input into the team's workload resources schedule for budget and resource planning purposes

Communicate effectively with clients, seeks feedback and develops or fosters client relationships

What you'll need



Qualifications:



Fire Safety Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma (or working towards) FPA/Fire Service College fire safety training modules or fire service in-house equivalent Fire Door Inspection Qualification - CertFDI / DipFD / CertFD Passive Fire Protection training - ASFP or Equivalent Member of either professional institutes of IFE, IFSM or IFPO and being registered on the National Fire Risk Assessor Listing

Experience:



Minimum 5 years of experience in undertaking Fire Risk Assessments in the UK Strong knowledge and experience of conducting Type 1-4 Fire Risk Assessments

Skills:



Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal and presentational skills Strong organisational ability IT literacy with proficiency in the use of a range of design software such as MS Office and Bluebeam A full and detailed knowledge of Fire Safety and building construction Produce written reports in good English and where appropriate use technical language Proficient in the use of basic software (word, excel, MS Project etc). Able to work with minimum supervision and to supervise others Team worker - working on own initiative but accept guidance or constructive criticism, as well as understanding own boundaries. Strong communication and people skills Personable and confident Mentor and manage junior members
