We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry-Level Fire Risk Assessor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in fire safety and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with our Lead Fire Risk Assessor, gaining valuable hands-on experience and training in all aspects of fire safety risk assessments.
Initially, the role will focus on supporting fire door inspections, assisting with portable appliance testing (PAT), and shadowing senior staff on fire risk assessments. Over time, the role will expand to include greater responsibility and independent assessment work as competence develops.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting fire door inspections, recording findings, and supporting remedial work recommendations.
Support with portable appliance testing (PAT), ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Shadow the Lead Fire Risk Assessor during site visits, gaining exposure to fire risk assessment processes, report writing, and client interaction.
Help maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Ensure tools, equipment, and testing devices are properly maintained and calibrated.
Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
Provide general support to the fire safety team as required.
Requirements
Keen interest in health & safety and fire safety compliance.
Good attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
Strong communication skills with a willingness to learn.
Basic IT literacy (Word, Excel, email, report writing).
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous exposure to construction, facilities management, or safety-related roles.
Awareness training in fire safety, asbestos, or health & safety.
Knowledge of fire doors or electrical testing.
