SALARY: \xc2\xa366,861.00 - \xc2\xa380,290.00 GBP
LOCATION(S): Chester
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity

The Loans Lab Engineering Team create software within a web-based Internet Banking system deployed across web, mobile and tablet providing functionality to allow customers to apply various Loans products including Personal Loan, Car finance, Personal Contract Hire and Credit Worthiness.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer in the team, you\'ll be responsible for creating high performant software, ensuring industry best standards, lead in discussions and brainstorming, and for driving improvements and excellence in the discipline of frontend software engineering.

You\'ll be working in an Agile Environment and will collaborate closely with fellow Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners to create well written tests for the solutions implemented, alongside updating, and creating automation frameworks where required and participating with coaching, mentoring and other leadership activities

Here\'s where you\'ll make a difference:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you\'ll primarily be building frontend applications using React, various state management tool such as Redux and Context, Typescript, HTML and CSS.

The role involves working with other Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers, Quality Engineers, and DevOps Engineers in a highly collaborative way to design, build, support and improve our front-end software.

You will also be working closely with the Product teams.

What you\'ll need -

We\'re looking for someone who will -

  • Help to drive the success of your Chapter by ensuring the best frontend software engineering disciplines are followed.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle to design, build, test, deploy and support digital systems.
  • Be able to work across different Feature Teams and help other teams where necessary.
  • Take on a mentorship role for other junior developers on the team.
  • In depth experience of leading technology improvements within the frontend domain
  • In depth understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive designs.
  • Proven experience in hands-on software engineering using a broad range of technologies including those listed below.
  • A team-player who can build relationships and work productively with others across a variety of domains and disciplines.
  • React, Redux (etc), TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
  • CI/ CD/ DevOps tooling experience e.g., GIT, Cypress, Jest etc.
  • Proven experience of frontend development using a functional paradigm.
  • Agile experience and excellent problem-solving skills.
