This role involves but is not limited to:To assume primary day to day supervision responsibility for regulatory duties, utilising the Legal Supervisors to effect tasks emanating from the duties
Act as Deputy to the Technical Director of Property as needed
Manage the number of Legal Supervisors, adhering to parameters within the Supervision Policy and Procedure, recruiting as necessary
To manage and support the Legal Heads and team of Legal Supervisors, to include execution of their duties and disciplinary matters, in accordance with your and their responsibilities under the Supervision Policy and Procedure
To ensure that the company is always protected, adhering to all regulatory/compliance requirements, working in accordance with the spirit and the word of department policies and practices
Work with compliance to manage duties emanating from responsibilities held under Lexcel, CQS, PI and mortgage lenders are met, with updates regularly communicated to those affected
Understand best practice through learning and a maintained peer network, disseminating knowledge and process changes through the department to reflect industry shifts
Together with the Technical Director of Property, work alongside Client Care to manage department complaints, sourcing lessons learned and feeding them back through training and communication
Being the escalation point for the Legal Supervisors and Legal Heads.
Together with the Legal Heads and Legal Supervisors, monitor open file levels, accounts balances, dormant files and liaise with the respective fee-earner actions required, monitoring completion
Undertake file reviews including High Value Transaction reviews when required
Act as the primary senior escalation point for department complex technical issues.
When required, review potential new consultant applications and due diligence, approving as appropriate
You must be willing to travel to other offices and to visit Consultants when required with this role
Requirements:
Legally qualified either SRA/CLC/CILEX ideally 5 PQE
Organised and pro-active approach
Significant experience and industry-leading technical knowledge in conveyancing
Proven people manager
Ability to build a team, manage and maintain morale, supervise and mentor
Good problem solving and communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines and achieve results
