Your new role, what\'s involved?

You will support the Lincoln team in the delivery of flood management and drainage schemes across the county. Your work will be varied and reactive to the team\xe2\x80\x99s changing demands and priorities.

You will:

  • Lead flood investigations, site inspections, data collection and analysis, scheme design and development, along with supervision of construction.
  • Lead and support a wide range of water projects such as the development and maintenance of key infrastructure. This will include the preparation of technical design solutions in accordance with design standards and approved design procedures.
  • Prepare technical documents and drawings for checking and approval.
  • Agree delivery targets with senior staff and report regularly on progress towards milestones.
  • Manage the delivery of your own projects along with the mentoring of others.
YOUR TEAM
  • Based in the heart of the vibrant and historic city of Lincoln, working in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, you will report to a Senior orPrincipal Engineer (which could be an LCC member of staff),
  • We have a fantastic pipeline of drainageand flood risk projects and are commencing the development of several Flood Defence Grant in Aid schemes. In addition to this we have the challenge of delivering the highway drainage improvement and maintenance schemes.
  • You will have the opportunity to work under a training agreement and will progress towards Incorporated and Chartered Status of a recognised engineering body. You will fulfil a pivotal role in completing projects that deliver real benefit to people\xe2\x80\x99s lives.
  • The training you will receive comprises an excellent blend of public and private sector skills.
We\'d love to hear from you if you have:
  • A degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and a professional qualification (or approaching submission) with an associated body such as IEng or Chartered status with CIWEM or the ICE.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of drainage design along with experience in the design of flood relief or drainage systems.
  • The ability to work under your own initiative and to seek advice when necessary.
  • Be Aware of the philosophy and practice of Health and Safety in civil engineering design and construction
