Job Overview:

As a Senior Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive a high standard of service, delivering beds and mattresses on time and in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in delivery, exceptional customer service skills, and a proactive approach to work, while representing our family business in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:



Delivery and Collection:

Safely and efficiently deliver and collect beds, mattresses, and other products to and from customers' homes, ensuring all goods are handled with care.

Customer Service:

Maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable attitude when interacting with customers, offering assistance when needed and ensuring a positive delivery experience.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Conduct daily checks of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is clean, roadworthy, and fully equipped with necessary supplies. Report any issues promptly.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure correct items are loaded onto the delivery vehicle. Support other team members and provide guidance when needed.

Problem-Solving:

Effectively handle any delivery-related challenges, such as access issues, delays, or customer complaints, escalating when necessary.

Documentation:

Accurately complete all relevant delivery paperwork, including customer signatures, delivery logs, and reports on returns or damages.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure safe lifting, loading, and unloading practices are followed. Adhere to all health and safety protocols and legal driving regulations.

Product Knowledge:

Have a strong understanding of the store's product offerings and be able to assist with queries or basic product explanations during deliveries.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:



Experience:

Experience as a delivery driver, preferably in furniture or similar industries. Previous experience in a senior or leadership role within a delivery team is highly desirable.

Driving License:

Full, driving license with the ability to drive large vans safely.

Physical Fitness:

Able to lift and carry heavy items safely, and navigate stairs or narrow spaces when delivering mattresses and beds.

Customer Service:

Strong customer-facing experience, demonstrating the ability to engage professionally and courteously with customers.

Navigation Skills:

Ability to efficiently plan routes and navigate the local area to ensure timely deliveries.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to resolve issues in a calm, professional manner, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:



Leadership Ability:

Ability to supervise and guide a small team of drivers and assistants, ensuring all deliveries are carried out to a high standard.

Communication:

Excellent verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with the operations team, customers, and other stakeholders.

Reliability:

A reliable, punctual individual who takes pride in their work and can be trusted to manage responsibilities autonomously.

Attention to Detail:

A keen eye for detail to ensure that all deliveries are completed accurately, including proper handling of paperwork, product quality checks, and following up on customer feedback.

Technical Knowledge:

Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and an understanding of the specific requirements of transporting beds and mattresses.
