We have an exciting opportunity for a
Home Delivery Manager
to join our Fleet team in Wigan on a full time, permanent basis. As our Home Delivery Manager, you will oversee the management of the company owned/leased fleet for Home Delivery based at our Wigan Hub. You must be self-motivated with a can-do approach as this is an operational role where you will be the first point of contact for drivers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities of our Home Delivery Manager include;
Management of the Home Delivery vehicles assigned to the Wigan Hub, ensuring adequate vehicles are available to meet delivery requirements.
Responsible for vehicle maintenance through implementation of procedures to record and monitor vehicle defects, completing periodic checks to ensure compliance.
Oversee the management and development of the Home Delivery Drivers
Support Home Delivery Team Leader / Co-ordinators to ensure vehicles and drivers always have the appropriate equipment, to carry out their role and meet H&S requirements.
Ensure the knowledge, expertise and skills of the teams are continuously monitored, supporting managers to provide coaching and training if deficiencies exist.
Support Driver/Hub Supervisors with the recruitment of staff to the Home Delivery Team.
Our ideal Home Delivery Manager will have the following skills / experience;
Previous management experience is essential.
Whilst previous logistics experience and experience of Transport Management Systems is desirable, it is not essential, as training can be provided.
CPC is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience using Microsoft office, Excel, is essential.
Effective communicator with the ability to develop good working relationships with the customer, drivers, and senior managers.
Ability to cope in a fast-moving environment with a flexible can-do attitude.
