CheckFire Ltd have an exciting new role within the Group HR Team.
The Senior HR Advisor will support the HR function across various locations. Access to your own vehicle and a full UK driving licence is essential for this position. This is a brand new role, reporting to the Group HR Director.
This is a dynamic and varied position within a developing HR function, offering exposure to all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
The Senior HR Advisor will support the development of the wider HR team with day-to-day guidance and support.
This role will ensure that HR practices align across the Group, while fostering a positive workplace culture. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HR policies, employee relations, recruitment, and compliance, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
Provide expert advice and support to Managers across a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance, capability, short and long-term absence, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE
Guide managers through complex HR scenarios, advising on risks, potential reputation or financial implications, and ensuring best practice is followed
Support and challenge ways of thinking, providing guidance and building rapport with Department Heads
Mediate and resolve employee conflicts, ensuring a fair and consistent approach
Identify training needs across sites and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
Build Manager capability by coaching, guiding and upskilling around people related topics, hosting training workshops with the support of the wider team
Partner with Managers throughout the recruitment process ensuring we attract and retain the best talent
Actively participate in cross-departmental meetings, contributing to discussions on people and operational matters
Lead and support organisation-wide projects such as health and wellbeing initiatives
Assist The HR Director in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Ensure that all HR practices are consistent across sites and aligned with company values
Prepare and analyse HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and identify trends
Support initiatives aimed at promoting health, wellbeing and employee engagement
Support the HR Director with salary bench marking and cost analysis, and annual budget writing processes
Research and undertake specific projects and other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the HR Director
Support with monthly Payroll Sign off for the Group, ensuring accuracy and any amendments have been actioned and signed off accordingly
Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation, HR policies and human resources best practice to ensure continuous development
Skills and Experience
Experience in a broad HR generalist role, with a strong track record of handling employee relations casework, preferably in a multi-site environment
Strong payroll knowledge, and experience of payroll processes
CIPD level 5/HR degree or working towards or equivalent qualification
Sound knowledge of current employment legislation is essential, along with practical experience of applying it through HR policies and procedures
Experience within a manufacturing/warehousing/ distribution environment
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
Experience of using HR systems and payroll-related software for data management and reporting
