Senior HR Business Partner
to lead our recruitment, employee relations, and training strategies across services in Chester and Preston.
This is a hands-on role with clear progression to
Head of HR and Workforce within 12 months
. You must bring a
Level 5 qualification (CIPD or equivalent)
and
HR experience within the health and social care sector
to be considered.
Please Note
: This is an
office-based role
in Chester. Due to the collaborative and operational nature of the work, remote/hybrid options are not currently available.
What You'll Be Doing:
Initial Focus - First 3 to 6 Months
Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment across all care settings
Oversee employee relations casework, ensuring fair, compliant, and values-led outcomes
Manage and develop a growing HR and Workforce team (currently 5 members)
Oversee onboarding and training to ensure CQC compliance and service quality
Partner with operational leaders to fulfil workforce planning and staffing needs
Ensure adherence to safer recruitment practices and employment law
As You Grow into the Role
Drive strategic workforce planning and HR initiatives
Strengthen internal training frameworks and support staff development pathways
Lead employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention strategies
Support policy rollouts and continuous improvement of HR systems
Use HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve organisational performance
What You'll Bring: Essential Criteria:
Proven experience in an HR role within a
regulated health and social care environment
Hands-on expertise in
recruitment
,
employee relations
, and
training delivery
Experience leading or developing a small HR/People team
Knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, and safer recruitment standards
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills
Level 5 qualification
in CIPD or Health & Social Care
Ambition to step into a
Head of HR
position within the next 12 months
