Job Description


Envireau Water is looking for a Senior Hydrologist to join their growing team.

The role is advertised as UK Wide to reflect the scale of our service offering and our commitment to modern, hybrid working arrangements. Candidates will however need to be in a commutable distance to one of the Envireau Water offices (Richmond, North Yorkshire; Melbourne, Derbyshire; Stirling, Scotland). We are also interested in receiving applications from entrepreneurial candidates with an ambition to help us develop new bases in Shrewsbury/North Wales, the South East or South West.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing hydrological assessments, including flood risk assessments, water resource assessments, and drought risk assessments.
  • Conducting hydrological modelling and analysis to support conceptual site models and risk assessments.
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, and other documents for clients and regulators.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Collaborating with Principal staff members on project management and technical guidance.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A postgraduate degree level qualification in either Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, Catchment Management, Hydrology, Geomorphology or similar.
  • At least 4 years demonstratable practical and technical experience.
  • Experience with Grapher, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Causeway Flow, ReFH2, WINFAP, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience of UK water resources and permitting legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Team and project management skills commensurate with your grade and experience.
  • A valid full UK driving licence.

Salary and Benefits:
  • A salary in the region of \xc2\xa330,000 to \xc2\xa340,000 with a higher salary potentially negotiable.
  • Performance based individual bonus scheme.
  • Permanent contract, working 40 hours per week within Monday to Friday. Flexibility is available with start and finish times as well as office location.
