We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal ICT Officer to join our innovative team and help shape the future of public services.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Work closely with Enterprise Architecture Team (Project Management, Business Analysis, Data Management, Solutions Architecture and Security) to determine the optimal design to meet the business requirement.
  • Be responsible for the end to end design, ensuring review cycles are met. ICT Operations and Applications teams to establish the Council\'s requirements for cyber and data security.
  • Support the Senior ICT Manager to ensure work packages are managed appropriately and progressed through the prescribed enterprise architecture framework and associated ICT governance processes.
  • Sponsor and produce high quality technical documentation for ICT and organisational solutions including solution and architecture designs and technical training/handover material.
  • Work with solutions stakeholders to provide options papers to identify the right solutions, along with Epics, Features, User Stories, Wireframes, Functional and Non-functional Requirements so the best solution is defined and implemented.
What skills and experience do you need to have:
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Architecture principles and concepts.
  • Significant knowledge of a breadth of architectural patterns, capabilities, technologies that can be used to conceive and drive solutions.
  • Significant experience of conducting ICT Architectural and Technical Design work and reviews.
  • Knowledge of how ICT can be used to drive change and improve the delivery of services.
  • Significant experience of advising non-ICT colleagues and presenting clear accessible reports/business cases for senior managers.

Our ICT Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but we work on a flexible basis which includes options for home working with an expectation for at least one day per week at location.
