About this opportunity



The Senior Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for crafting, implementing, maintaining, securing, and supporting infrastructure resources! They will work without the need for supervision and own and direct the tasks of more junior Infra Specialists and Infra Engineers! They will focus on Platform or Lab level objectives and may manage a sub-set of their team's technical products.


Below are core responsibilities that this role will undertake:


Delivers a set budget for their area or analyses budget progress in other areas using established systems. Identifies and improves compliance processes, systems, and procedures within their unit or discipline. Writes and edits content tailored to different audiences. Invests in personal development and trains others within the organisation's development framework. Improves business practices and leads projects or workstreams with guidance from senior colleagues. Manages others to deliver outcomes within established systems. Achieves results by working within existing knowledge management systems. Detects emerging issues, identifies causes, stakeholders, and barriers. Designs and adapts specialised products or services to meet customer needs using available approaches. Investigates incidents and advises senior colleagues while coordinating compliance efforts across functions. Develops or delivers parts of a strategic planning system with support from senior colleagues.

What you'll need



We'd be looking for varying levels of experience across the following areas:


Exposure to multiple infrastructure technologies (Server, Storage, Network) in a Design and/or implementation role. Experience of Public Cloud migration would be desirable. Experience of end-to-end project delivery. Systems Thinking or exposure to the methodology and working practices would set your application apart. Whilst skills, knowledge and prior experience are meaningful to us we want people who are highly motivated, and enthusiastic with an inquisitive and curious approach to work.
And any experience of these would be really useful


Experienced in the design/architecture of infrastructure solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment, e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Middleware, Storage, Network and Databases. Skilled at producing quality concise design documentation, with an emphasis on decisions and diagrams necessary to mobilise delivery across private and public cloud. Hands-On experience of end-to-end project delivery, working predominantly with Agile delivery models including modern software development and deployment practices Understanding of building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working understanding of cloud methodologies Senior stakeholder manager and experience managing 3rd party partners. Previous Banking/Finance industry experience would be very useful.
