The role



We are looking for a Senior Insight Research Practitioner will lead and support the design and delivery of research, primarily qualitative though occasionally projects may have quantitative elements.

You will work as part of a fast paced, agile, creative organisation, to produce discussion guides, surveys, conducting primary research, analysis, reporting and shaping insight-led recommendations. You will be expected to drive and have access to a car. You will also be expected to travel to other ICE offices from time to time.

This role is a fixed term role up to 10th July 2026 with a possible extension. Role is Hybrid.

Salary Range: 28,000 - 32,000 per annum.

Key elements of the day-to-day role:



This role is a qualitative leaning, mixed methods role. You will join a high performing team and be leading or supporting the design and delivery of mixed methods behavioural insights and research projects. The role will involve:

Developing discussion guides or logic-based surveys.

Conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups in-person, by telephone and online with professionals, people and vulnerable groups. This will require some travel to UK locations to conduct face-face focus groups where required.

Using 'clean language' questioning techniques and laddering to elicit what is driving behaviour.

Leading or collaborating on the analysis of qualitative and survey data, including using thematic analysis and segmentation analysis.

Leading or collaborating on the reporting of insight findings, including the application of behavioural theory and science to help better understand the behaviours being observed.

Developing actionable recommendations informed by behavioural insights and science.

Producing outputs including publishable-level written reports, lay summaries and presentations.

Presenting to and communicating with internal team, clients and wider stakeholders.

Working closely with internal team, clients and wider stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of projects as part of a collaborative approach.

Working on multiple projects at one time.

Producing sales assets (e.g. blogs, case studies) to promote and sell our offer.

Collaborating on writing tenders and proposal.

Act at all times within the Company's rules, policies, procedures and financial regulations.

Essential existing skills/experience



Undergraduate degree in the social sciences or other relevant degree. Experience of or training on the use of Excel for the analysis of survey data. Including, but not limited to data tabulation and analysis of findings. At least 3 years industry experience of delivering mixed methods research. Experience of writing reports to a high standard in Word or PowerPoint. Experience of combining survey data with qual findings to craft a single report narrative. An interest in behavioural insights and science, specifically its application to understand behaviour and develop behaviour change solutions. Ability to manage your own work and deliver across multiple projects. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and grow. Comfortable with a hybrid working model (a mix of office and home-based). Experience in using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other digital platforms.

Desirable:



Master's degree in the field of behavioural/ social science, health behaviours or other relevant degree. Data visualisation experience - demonstrable understanding of how to present data in an engaging way within a report or presentation. Experience applying insights and behavioural science/ theory in practice to inform solutions. Strong understanding of qualitative research to understand behaviour and decision-making. Experience of having works published. Experience of process/ impact evaluation, logic models, theories of change.
