IT Support Engineer

will be responsible for ensuring the reliable running of the IT systems throughout Destination Sport Group through both proactive and reactive action to Infrastructure, Security & Technical Project Delivery for both the internal IT team and wider Business Stakeholders.

This is a varied & hands on role, as our new Senior IT Support Engineer you will:



Work with our 7 sport companies within Destination Sport Group to ensure our IT Systems and infrastructure are maintained, optimised and protected against any threats Autonomously manage IT projects, collaborating closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager to deliver efficient technical solutions Proactively identify, recommend and implement improvements and efficiencies across our IT systems and infrastructure Proactively identify, recommend and implement security improvements in our IT Systems and Infrastructure Respond to Security alerts from MS Defender and SOC in timely manner ensuring all effected parties are notified of any threats Proactively monitor the service health our Microsoft and Azure estates and take any action required to resolve any issues and notify our stakeholders if applicable Maintain and update network Infrastructure (where appropriate) in the Manchester office Provide support to and resolve any incidents, problems or requests and make improvements associated with these technologies:

+ Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
+ Software Deployment (Intune/MDM)
+ Device Management and optimisation using appropriate toolsets

+ Networking maintenance / architecture, Firewalls, Layer 3 switches, Access Points, VPN etc
+ Print Management (inc Papercut)
+ Microsoft 365 ecosystem / infrastructure
+ Domain management & maintenance
+ Microsoft Teams Rooms and AV solutions
+ Enterprise Application Management / Integration in Azure
+ Asset management
+ Network Patching
+ Remote Site Management
+ System Security including the use of Microsoft Defender / Purview
Work closely with the existing IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure security for office based & remote workers. As an ISO27001, BS10012, ISO22301 and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited business you must always carry out your role according to company IT policies. Assist with the handling of confidential information by ensuring appropriate file permissions are set Verify Microsoft 365, AD & AV set-up is as per company policy including memory stick blocking etc Assist with user education both remotely & face to face Check and be ready for disaster recovery or business continuity plans to be brought into action Carry out critical checks that enable proactive action to prevent any significant failure

To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:



Demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for IT and IT related products Have significant experience in a similar role within a fast paced commercial organisation Demonstrate extensive experience & knowledge of the listed technologies Have significant knowledge of IT risks and the importance of suitable mitigations Demonstrate knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles Show reasonable in-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP & DHCP/ IP Have working experience & knowledge with Windows 10/ 11 system administration Demonstrate solid experience and knowledge of Office 365 & desktop imaging/ Autopilot Be a collaborative team member who is able to work as part of a wider team while working independently on own tasks & projects Have the ability to mentor junior members of the team Have outstanding communication skills both written & verbal with the ability to communicate to those at all levels of seniority both internal & external to the business Be able to provide friendly customer service to internal & external stakeholders in an often high pressured & fast paced role Be proactive with the ability to multitask and prioritise - ensuring technical requests are see through to completion Be a diligent personality, with a high attention to detail ensuring preparations are made in advance for a task with resolutions in mind for any issues that arise

Highly desirable:



Vendor/ Supplier Management Business continuity awareness Professional Experience Awareness of ISO27001, ITIL and PCI Security Cloud Technologies: Azure and SaaS based solutions. Microsoft Certifications PowerShell SharePoint / Team Administration Experience of System Migrations including Tenant to Tenant. Experience Technical Project Delivery * ITIL Foundation and/or Practitioner level courses / certifications
