The Loaf IT team support all services, user provisioning and monitoring and resolution of any issues affecting IT services and infrastructure across Head office, Distribution Centre, our 11 showrooms (shacks) and remote workers.


This role is broad and covers support, integration, and upgrades of various business systems and key infrastructure. Due to the size of the IT team, this role will also act as an escalation point to any BAU support tickets escalated from 1st line. Bigger picture thinking is vital to this role. One decision could impact several other teams, processes, technologies and the overall Technology Roadmap.



Cybersecurity will underpin every decision you make and should be a consideration for everything you do. You will work to security best practices, always trying to mitigate as much risk as possible- to any internal or external threats.



This position is ideal for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking to establish themselves in an environment where they can affect real change. You will be encouraged to bring forward your own ideas and have large input to the design and implementation of new solutions and initiatives and redefining what we are already doing to make it work better.


The Senior IT Systems Engineer role will report to the Head of IT.

The Job



Provide hardware and software support in a mixed Windows/Mac/Server environment Act as an escalation point for any complex BAU incidents. Manage problems to implement root cause fixes. Design, build and maintain core elements of the IT Infrastructure including servers switches and firewalls. Manage Microsoft Azure ecosystem including, Entra, Intune, Purview as well as cloud based infrastructure Efficiently and effectively investigate, diagnose and action all operational alerts. Provide support for Technology projects. This role may manage smaller projects. Maintain and create knowledgebase articles. Use standard management tools and processes to carry out defined housekeeping processes. Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for escalation of issues. Ensure that all operational security policies, processes and procedures are adhered to and revised on at least an annual basis. Identify and solve any potentially security vulnerabilities. Safeguarding information system assets. Protecting systems by defining access privileges, control structures and resources Implementing security improvements

We're looking for



Experience working in an ITIL driven team (Retail experience desirable but not essential) Experience administering and supporting Microsoft Azure, M365 and Windows 11 Good experience of supporting an Apple Mac environment Understanding of network protocols and technology (Cisco Meraki experience essential) Knowledge and working experience of utilising scripting languages to perform a desired outcome Experience configuring API integrations between separate platforms Experience of working with Mobile Device Management (MDM) technologies Ability to author technical documentation Resilient, proactive and positive attitude and approach Strong communication skills essential Ability to identify areas for improvements to efficiency both procedural and technical Must be able to work on own initiative and work well within a small team Must have excellent analytical skills, the ability to work to deadlines and to take a task from design through to implementation and documentation.
Ideally you will have relevant IT certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, VCP, CCNA, etc. and an ITIL v3/4 Foundation qualification, technology related degree or relevant working experience.
