JOB TITLE: Senior Technology Risk Lead
SALARY: Circa 90K-107K pa
LOCATIONS: Bristol, Birmingham, Chester, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds or Manchester
London-based candidates might be considered, in exceptional circumstances.
HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites listed above.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are transforming the way we deliver and run our technology here at Lloyds Banking Group! We're developing creative solutions, adopting cutting-edge technologies and moving fast to better serve our customers.
We want to do all of this safely, to make sure our systems are there when our customers need them. So our new technology has to be highly resilient, available and responsive. It has to be able to recover quickly when things go wrong. We have to understand any weak points, and make sure we can fix them.
To do all this we need to manage risk better.
We want to make sure technology risk is described in the right way, owned by the right people and gets fed into the right decision-making forums. We don't want risk to be a set of processes, we want to bring to life the pros and cons of tech decision-making, and allow senior leaders to really understand the impact of tech risk to their customers.
We want to use operational data to tell us how we're managing risk in real-time, and whether our exposure is going up or down.
And we want to make sure the exciting new tech we are adopting has technical guardrails in place to make it easy for engineers to do the right thing, and hard to do the wrong thing.
HOW CAN YOU HELP US MAKE THIS HAPPEN?
We are looking to build our team, and are looking for IT Risk Consultants at leadership level (this advert) and at team IT Risk specialist level (please see our advert with reference 122461).
For all our roles, we're looking for someone capable, articulate and motivated, with:A strong understanding of current technology (e.g. AI, Digital Ledger Technology and Quantum)
Experience of its practical application and risks
A passion for improving risk outcomes for our customers

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOINGLeading teams and driving change in how we manage technology risk;
Driving relationships with stakeholders across the bank, acting as a trusted advisor to provide pragmatic advice to support key tech risk decisions;
Influencing our IT community to build high availability, reliability and performance into the tech they are delivering;
Helping to automate our tech controls, to allow our engineers to deliver and run their solutions safely;
Using data to assess risk, and to identify emerging risks;
Reporting on tech risk in a way that makes sense to our stakeholders;
Making sure our policies and practices reflect new tech opportunities and threats
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE (WHAT YOU NEED)
Technology risk experienceExpertise in technology, covering key areas such as technology asset lifecycle management, configuration and build management, technology service management (including capacity, change, problem, and incident management), technology architecture and design including cloud services.
Strong, working knowledge of IT Risk Frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT etc.) and ability to identify, assess and manage technology risk acro
Effective communication skillsStrong, influencing and leadership skills with experience working with technology leads and engineering teams, and the ability to contribute credibly to technical conversations
Has acted as a Risk Specialist business partner, using strong communication skills to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others, including Risk Owner, Control Owner and Control Office to meet shared objectives
Able to work effectively with all other lines of defence and understands the different but complementary roles
Seen as the primary Operational Risk specialist and expert across the Group to help deliver against aligned customer, business and strategic outcomes
Future vision and understanding of technology and risksDemonstrable curiosity and understanding of the emerging technologies shaping the risk landscape (inc. AI, Digital Ledger Technology, Quantum)
Demonstrates ability to interpret new operational risk regulation, emerging risks and technology innovations with forethinking to anticipate the impact of changes on the Group and act accordingly
Future focused by being able to conceptualise and articulate a customer-centric desired end state that has clear line of sight to our Group Strategy
Demonstrates good and timely decision making that keeps the organisation moving forward and skilfully balances difficult trade-offs with the ability to understand business strategy and opportunity risks
Has examples where they have assimilated different sources of data and complex information to effectively problem solve and make relevant conclusions and recommendations
Has examples of building effective, ongoing data-led Operational Risk control objectives working with others, including external regulators
Inspires others by gaining followership and commitment to future action through personal integrity and collaboration; demonstrating an inclusive approach
Coaches to go faster by demonstrating commitment to create an environment that builds teams with skills aligned to our Group Strategy and Purpose, creating new and better ways for the organisation to change at pace
