About this Role



We are seeking a proactive and skilled Senior IT Technician to join our central IT team, based primarily at Wheatley Park School, with responsibility for delivering high-quality IT support to the school and to local primary schools, including John Watson School.

This role combines day-to-day operational IT support with infrastructure maintenance, digital content management, and second-line technical resolution. You'll work closely with the RLT Senior Network Manager and IT Technician to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT services that support teaching, learning, and administration.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience providing IT support in a school or similar multi-site environment Confidence managing and troubleshooting Windows servers, networking equipment, and a range of end-user devices Experience using and supporting Google Workspace and other cloud-based platforms Familiarity with ticketing/helpdesk systems and structured IT support workflows Ability to manage and update website content and contribute to digital communications Strong communication and organisational skills, with a calm, professional, and user-focused approach A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider IT team A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Wheatley Park School, John Watson School, and local primary schoolThe River Learning Trust is a forward-thinking family of schools where staff and students are supported to thrive.
