Hours of Work: Monday to, Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm & Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Annual Starting Salary: 39,153

The Role:
L.E.A.D. IT Services was incorporated in 2010 and joined L.E.A.D. Academy Trust in September 2016. Over the years we have expanded significantly increasing both our team and the number of customers accessing our services. We specialise in supporting the education sector working with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and specialist schools. As well as L.E.A.D. Academy Trusts 25 schools we also support many more trusts nationwide.
Our office is based in Pride Park, which is easily accessible via public transport. The open plan office is bright and airy with high ceilings and a fully equipped kitchen with break out areas. With many of the team being here from the start and lots who have joined along the way, this small knowledgeable, friendly team really is great to be a part of.
We are currently recruiting for an Senior IT Technician, this is an exciting opportunity and would be ideally suited to someone who can deal with new challenges and adapt to the demands of the business.

Main Skills and Knowledge:
Strong technical knowledge of hardware installations, software installations, server deployments, operating system upgrades, and deployment planning.
In-depth understanding of cyber security practices, including threat detection and prevention, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and secure remote access protocols.
Proficiency in deploying and managing server infrastructure, including virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, end-users, and stakeholders.
Flexibility to adapt to changing technology environments and organizational needs.
Cyber Security: Knowledge of cyber security principles, practices, and tools. Experience in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems. Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
Hardware Installations: Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware components, including servers, desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Understanding of hardware compatibility, system requirements, and installation best practices.
Deployment Planning: Ability to plan and coordinate technology deployments, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Understanding of project management principles and the ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
Software Compliance: Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance requirements. Experience in managing software licenses, tracking usage, conducting audits, and maintaining accurate records.
Device Updates and Upgrades: Proficiency in managing device updates and upgrades, including patch management, firmware updates, and hardware refresh cycles. Familiarity with remote device management tools and techniques.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines and SLAs.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques and tools.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Documentation: Skill in accurately documenting technical issues, resolutions, and maintaining equipment inventory.
Adherence to IT Policies: Familiarity with IT policies, security protocols, and data protection regulations.
Equipment Installation and Configuration: Proficiency in setting up and configuring computer systems, peripherals, and network devices.
Mobile Device Support: Knowledge of supporting mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, including configuration and troubleshooting.
Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements through self-learning and professional development opportunities.
Project Management: Ability to coordinate and manage technology deployments, migrations, and projects.
Scripting and Automation: Understanding of scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python. Experience in automating repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
Remote Support: Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques to assist users remotely.
Server Administration: Understanding of server administration tasks, including setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
IT Service Management (ITSM): Familiarity with ITSM frameworks, such as ITIL. Knowledge of IT service management tools and processes, including incident management, change management, and problem management.
IT Governance and Compliance: Understanding of IT governance frameworks and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Experience in implementing and maintaining IT compliance measures.
