Senior Kennel Assistant
Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a senior kennel assistant to join our small team at The Dog House & Grooming Room.
We are a 5 star luxury boarding kennels, based between Filby and Ormesby, providing canine accommodation for both day care and longer stays, with an on-site grooming salon.
You will be working in both the kennels and grooming salon. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Kennels:
Assisting guests on arrival and departure for their kennel bookings;
Taking payments for kennel and grooming customers;
Cleaning and disinfecting kennels during exercises and after departure;
Preparing kennels for arriving guests;
Cleaning and maintenance of the common areas;
Feeding dogs to owners specifications;
Administering medication to dogs where necessary;
Monitoring and recording dogs behaviour, feeding, medication and toilet habits. Reporting any changes or concerns to supervisors;
Cleaning kennels, exercise runs and common areas;
Supervising junior members of staff.
Shift patterns are 7:30 am to 11:00 and/or 4:30 pm until at least 7:30 pm approximately 16 hours per week. Extra shifts will be available for sickness/holiday cover.
You must be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages. Experience of walking or owning dogs is an advantage.
Own car & driving license necessary.
