As a Senior Land Officer, you will use your technical knowledge and experience to deliver the required land rights on our Major Infrastructure Projects.


You will be part of a diverse lands team providing expert knowledge on land rights, acquisitions and you will have a lead role in managing the DCO process and associated workstreams.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Successfully managing and instructing our suppliers on our Major Infrastructure Projects Delivering access to land for surveys, securing of land rights, acquisitions and stakeholder management in line with our Land Rights Strategy Management of projects from Pre-FEED to construction; providing regular updates to the Land Rights Manager of progress Reporting on key milestones, deliverables, risks, opportunities and all financial matters on a regular basis to the project leadership teams Management of client banking accounts and PO's Accountability of key stakeholder discussions arising from project proposals Accountability of our survey access process, utilising our statutory powers of access where required You will give evidence as an expert witness at DCO hearings/inquires Mentoring of land officers in the team; help where necessary to ensure delivery of land rights effectively

About you

The skillset and experience required for this role are:

Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, grantors and other third parties using strong verbal and written communication methods In-depth knowledge of key legislation for major infrastructure projects (DCO, CPO's, CRO's, TCPA) and the relevant documentation Strong project management skills to successfully represent the lands team in project meetings Desirable to be MRICS/AssocRICS or working towards Knowledge of the Planning Act 2008, Compulsory Purchase Act 1965, Gas Act 1986 and Pipelines Act 1962 Experience of delivering DCO's and CPO's and understanding of their processes and the compensation code Experience in leading and chairing meetings Ability to successfully deliver a project within budget Valid UK driving license
