We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk,
Highpoint is spilt into 2 sites, the North Building has around 390 males and the South Building has around 950 males. Both sites have designated Healthcare Departments which you will be based in.

Between the hours of 8am 6.15pm
rota's are done 1 month in advance

Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary between 43,609 - 49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Learning Disability Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will
Have responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing
service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting. Be working with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into
contact with the criminal justice system
Work with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and co-ordination of positive non aversive behavioural approaches to service users.

Qualifications required
Registered Nurse - NMC Learning Disabilities
Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Substantial experience working with adults with Learning disabilities with a range of clinical presentations
Evidence of working Learning disability health within a community or inpatient setting.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
