OVERALL SUMMARY

The role is for a Senior Legal Counsel to lead, manage and assist on a 12 month programme regarding CBAM\xe2\x80\x99s key commercial contracts and relationships with third party suppliers.

As CBAM\xe2\x80\x99s business evolve, we are focusing on our key commercial contracts and relationships with our numerous third party suppliers.

The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing high quality and commercially focused legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders across the CBAM business to support the day-to-day requirements of this programme. Day-to-day the Senior Legal Counsel will be leading and managing the programme, advising on and negotiating commercial contracts with suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing all CBAM\xe2\x80\x99s key third party supplier contacts, including material outsourcing arrangements with third party suppliers.
  • Attending meetings with each contract relationship owner and Third Party Management representatives to understand the scope of the service(s) being provided.
  • Identifying where the third party supplier contract may need renegotiating as agreed with the relationship owner and Third Party Management team and completing the renegotiation of the contract.
  • Preparing a contract summary / briefing paper for each third party supplier contract that is presented to CBAM committees for approval and kept on file.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a diverse range stakeholders across the business, leading and managing the programme and providing progress reports to CBAM Committees.
  • Regulated by the Solicitors\xe2\x80\x99 Regulation Authority or overseas equivalent.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective legal risk management taking account of good outcomes for clients.
  • Compliance with all internal policies, procedures and standards. \xe2\x80\x8b
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU / PLEASE APPLY IF:
  • Fully-qualified lawyer entitled to practice in England and Wales.
  • 4 \xe2\x80\x93 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 PQE.
  • Previous in-house financial services experience required with desirable experience working in asset management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the law and regulation applicable to regulated financial services firms.
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and knowledge of the EBA Guidelines / regulated outsourcing.
  • A good understanding of the GDPR and the UK data protection regime.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels including the ability to provide constructive challenge and feedback to management of all levels of seniority.
  • The Senior Legal Counsel will be reporting directly to the CBAM Head of Legal to ensure oversight of the work through the existing legal team.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage complex deliverables against tight timeframes.
